Introduction to our Partial Hospitalization Program

The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at St. Mary’s Wellness Center offers a structured and therapeutic environment for individuals seeking intensive treatment without the necessity of round-the-clock supervision. This program is particularly beneficial for individuals who are in the process of transitioning from inpatient care, providing them with the support they need to reintegrate into daily life. It is also an excellent option for those who find that traditional outpatient treatment does not adequately meet their requirements.

What is the Partial Hospitalization Program?

Participants in the PHP engage in a comprehensive schedule of therapeutic activities, including group and individual counseling sessions, skills training, and wellness education. Our program aims to empower you or a loved one by equipping you with the tools necessary for recovery while ensuring a supportive community surrounds you. With flexible scheduling, clients can participate in programming during the day, allowing them to return home in the evenings, fostering a balance between intensive support and personal autonomy.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a highly organized and therapeutic environment during the day, usually operating five days a week for several hours each day. Participants in this program take part in a carefully designed, comprehensive treatment plan that encompasses a variety of therapeutic modalities, including individual and group therapy sessions, medical management for ongoing conditions, and participation in support groups that foster community and connection. After engaging in these structured activities, patients return to the comfort of their own homes or a supportive living environment each evening, allowing for the application of skills learned throughout the day in a real-world setting. This approach not only promotes healing and personal growth but also encourages a seamless transition back to everyday life.

Frequently Asked Questions

The length of the PHP can vary greatly depending on each individual's specific circumstances and treatment goals. Generally, participants can expect the program to last anywhere from two to four weeks, allowing enough time for comprehensive support and progress.
Participants in the PHP typically engage in the program for approximately 6 to 8 hours each day, running from Monday through Friday. This intensive schedule is designed to immerse individuals in therapeutic activities and support, fostering a focused environment for healing.
Due to the intensive structure and demands of our behavioral health PHP, balancing a full-time job with program commitments may prove to be challenging for most individuals. However, some patients may find it feasible to work part-time during hours outside of their treatment schedule, depending on their personal recovery journey and energy levels.
The Primary distinction between PHP and IOP lies in the intensity and frequency of the treatment sessions. PHP offers a more rigorous schedule with a greater number of treatment hours each week, which often provides a deeper level of clinical support. In contrast, IOP typically involves fewer sessions per week and less intensive treatment hours, making it a suitable option for those who may require less frequent intervention.
Patients are generally responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the PHP. However, we understand that this can be a barrier for some, and we may be able to offer assistance or resources on a case-by-case basis to help facilitate access to our services.
